We are very proud of our gardens here at the farm. No matter what time of year there are plenty of plants, flowers and vegetables to have a look at. Take a stroll around the beds and planters and you will spot all sorts of fruits, crops and blooms. We have several polytunnels, sheds and green houses which are jammed packed full of everything we need to keep our gardens bountiful.
Vegetable patches are broken up with beds of wild plants, flowers and shrubs. We like to give the bees plenty of opportunities to find some food. If you have any questions about our gardens or even some tips for your garden at home just ask one of our gardeners, they will be more than happy to help!
Did you know you can buy what we grow! You can find all of our garden produce, together with jars of honey and farm eggs, for sale in our farm shop. We are happy to have Stonebridge City Farm honey back on our shelves.
We do not use any artificial pesticides are used in our gardens. To give seedlings in the polytunnels a fighting chance we use food plants, such as marigolds, to distract pests and provide forage and shelter for predators.
We also have a large play area for your little ones to enjoy. You can see the playground as soon you arrive on the farm. This really is a great area for children to play outside and let off steam, and for families to socialise and enjoy a snack or meal from our café or a picnic. We are very grateful to the grant we received from WREN which enabled us to install a new play area in July 2018.
NB – children MUST be supervised at ALL times on the playground equipment
The gardening team are always happy to take on an extra pair of hands! As you can see from our gardens there's a lot of work to be done. If you are interested in volunteering and getting stuck in then click the link below to find out more.
In a record-breaking year for the Green Flag Award, as the scheme marks its Silver Jubilee, STONEBRIDGE CITY FARM is one of 2,127 celebrating success.
