In the aviary we have a wide selection of different species of exotic birds.
We have Zebra Finches, Canaries, Cockatiels, Love Birds, Budgerigars, Japanese Quails and Chinese Quails.
These birds come in a variety of different colours and size. They each have different vocalisations that they use to communicate. Use the poster on the shed to help you spot them all?
The birds in our aviary have a diet of different types of seeds, such as millet and sunflower seeds. As a treat they will also get a variety of different fruits and vegetables.
The Zebra Finches, Cockatiels and Budgerigars originate from Australia. Canaries originate from the Canary, Azores and Maderia Islands of Spain. Japanese Quails surprisingly come from Japan and Chinese Quails originate from China.
The quails lay eggs starting from the spring and finishing in the autumn, we sometimes hatch these eggs in the barn. They generally take about 18 days to hatch.
We also sell the quail eggs in our shop.
